Hayida Reunion

November 29, 2007
Dear JoAnne:

Thank you and your staff so much for the service a nd hospitality at PocMont. We had a great time. Everybody loved your resort and asked me constantly how I chose the resort and whether I had come here before.

I met Paula and she was very helpful at the front desk. She gave us everything we requested. On the day of my arrival, she even instructed another staff member to give us an orientation tour. That was very nice.

The foods were good and rooms clean. We all felt very comfortable.

On one note, the breakfast on Sunday morning was served with waiters. I felt it was not necessary. We waited very long time before getting the meals. I like buffet style better.

Overall, it is a very satisfying stay and we already plan to come back next year.

Regards,
Zhongren Woo

Hello –

I just wanted to take a minute to thank you for the weekend my family just had at your resort. A great time was had by all.

I’d like to send a special thanks to three people, our main server Misty, our bus boy Hugo, and your Assistant Manager who was on duty that weekend ( I apologize I didn’t get her name, just mention Spongebob and she’ll probably remember me). My family is not the easiest to deal with and all three did an exceptional job.

I’m not sure if any of them make it to the NYC area but I’d like to extend an invitation to an event at Madison Square Garden in our suite for the three of them and a guest. I can’t promise the event without advanced notice but have them contact me directly at the info below and we can work it out.

Perhaps the nicest thing I can say about your resort is we plan on returning with the entire extended family in two years when we will next get together as a group.

Thanks again

Long Island & Westbury Bridge Clubs

Sir/ Madam:

On prior visits to Pocmont Resort, the Long Island and Westbury Bridge Clubs always bring whatever equipment and supplies we may need for our Tournament. We have been coming to Pocmont for at least Eight years and our Tournament normally runs 2 and 1/2 days.

On this occasion, (9/8-9/10) and on the first day of the Tournament, our computer printer failed to print and a dilemma arose. We needed to find a way to produce and show the results, of each game, to the participants in a timely manner.

To the rescue came your Employee, Paula Rohner. I had asked her if she had an extra computer printer that I could use for 2 days. She graciously allowed me to borrow a LaserJet Printer for the duration of the Tournament.

Paula is the personification of why long Island and Westbury Bridge Clubs return to Pocmont year after year. Her courtesy and graciousness is to be commended.

Respectfully,
Albert Alias
Bridge Director

Hi Camie,

I just wanted to thank you for all your help with my daughter's Sweet 16 party on August 27, 2006.

The services were absolutely great - my husband as you know is an ex-cater/waiter and his friends who are currently cater/waiters in NYC and attended the party were very impressed by the services provided. They said everything was right on target.

The food was awesome - we had to extend the buffet time because everyone kept refilling their plate!! The party went off without a hitch, your staff was unbelievable and very helpful in every aspect.

We will see you in 4 1/2 years when my 2nd oldest daughter turns 16.

Best Regards,

Boyd-Webster Family Reunion

September 19, 2007

Dear Pocmont,

Sorry for contacting you so late, I’ve been ill and very busy attempting to catch up on “everything.”

I can't thank you, the Pocmont staff/crew/family, enough for the wonderful weekend my family and I had at your resort. This was by far our best reunion.

I wish more of the family had come but for various reasons including costs, did not attend. I tried very hard to show how this event was cost effective. With the variety of rooms, variety of activities and the outstanding meals.... well, we've paid around the same amount with past reunions and got less. I for one am tired of eating just "ok" food or finding a fast food restaurant for breakfast or lunch. I'm tired of eating some of our family members food too.... some have lost their touch in their senior years while others didn't pay attention in cooking class.... if it is not heated in a microwave they don't know what to do.

Every meal was fantastic at Pocmont. If someone in the kitchen messed up, we missed it.

The rooms were great. No one had any complaints, in fact, all were pleasantly surprised. Those in the Westview said they enjoyed the view from their "balconies."

Clearly, everyone enjoyed himself or herself.

The children, of various ages, all had a ball. The little ones loved the indoor pool; my pre-teen loved the archery; and our teen had a great time with the other kids his age.

Those who went to the shows said each was very entertaining. And I’m not sure but a few may have lost at Bingo, no one wanted to talk about it. Which has been the same way they act after going to the casinos...so you get the picture.

The one thing all agreed on, was the fact that after you parked your car that was it you didn’t have to go to your car again until it was time to leave. Everything you need was right there in the resort. A few of the ladies were even surprised at the items available in the store. It satisfied their shopping bug.

I can’t single out anyone because everyone did a great job; from the front desk to the activities staff to housekeeping to the maintenance crew to the waiters/waitresses...all were just great.

Again, thank you very much for making this event easy for my aunt and I. Reunion is a book of tasks and for once there were very few for the committee to perform, thanks to Pocmont.

May GOD bless all of you.

Thank you,

Sharon L. Alston

To whom it may concern,
My family and I are long time and regular visitors of the Poconos (from New York). I wanted to take a moment and commend you and whoever on your staff is responsible for Pocmont's entertainment. In addition to the well attended "Bingo Games", we had the pleasure earlier this week to be entertained by singer/musician "Lady A" and her Motown group, along with very, very FUNNY self-proclaimed "the skinny, German, juggler boy" and other comedians.

We were specially impresed and quite surprised (to our great luck) to have been entertained by Dave Smith (after having recently appeared on TV; America's Got Talent).

Your resort, and its visitors (including my family) are so lucky to have had the opportunity to see his "entire" show. He is very talented and quite entertaining. I hope that you are able to share this sentiments with appropiate staff members and the entertainers - Keep up the great work and folks like myself will continue to come back!

Hi Gregg,
Just in case you have no idea who we are, let me refresh your memory! A couple of weeks ago, we came to the Pocmont on a Friday afternoon. We asked to see one of the cabins & guess who just happened to be there (you of course). You spoke to my wife Nancy and myself about the Toll Brothers homes in Country Club of the Poconos among other things. As if that great information was not enough, you also upgraded our room to one inside the main building!

Gregg, although we only stayed that one night, we had a wonderful time. The food, the entertainment, the service, was just great! We felt like we spent several days. All of this was the result of your taking the time to keep a couple of customers happy.

Be assured, that we will be back & that we will continue to recommend the Pocmont to all our friends!

PS: By the way Gregg, we are looking at the Toll Brothers homes at the Country Club & you were right, they are nice. Maybe we'll get in a game of golf together someday?

Again thanks for going the extra mile,
All the best,
Eddie & Nancy Risdell

To Staff of Pocmont,
Last week I decided that I needed time off from my busy schedule. In deciding on where to go I thought about where I have been... Jersey Shore, Europe and many other states in the Union. I realized that I hadn't seen much of my own state so I went on the internet at VisitPa.com. There I found so many places to go. Deciding on the NE Mountains and wanting to see Bushkill Falls, I decided to stay at Pocmont because of its central location. Not having any word of mouth from anyone who had stayed at Pocmont, I did not know what to expect. Well, it truly was a blast. Like the brochure states, there are so many activities for people of all ages and physical conditions.

I particularly enjoyed the indoor pool and the small heated whirlpool on the side. It was so relaxing that it was difficult to get out and go to dinner. The staff of the Front Desk, Sky Lounge, Star Room, Pool and Fitness Center were courteous and professional. Even the maintenance staff were friendly... one even took the time (during power failure) to answer my question about birds building nests on the side of the building. Being a nature lover, I appreciated him explaining that Wrens build mud nests and that they are beneficial to guests because they eat many insects.

I want to send a special thanks and kudos to the staff of the Seasons. What a great dining experience. Assigned a table (#1) for our entire stay, our server, Justin, was kind, friendly and professional. He even gave ma a tip on the brand of coffee that was used and which I found to be very tasty. But the service did not stop with Justin. It seemed that someone was always going around asking us if we needed something. Particularly, I want to point out and say thank you to Rudy, Sylvia and Paul. Even though they were assigned other tables they always had a smile for us and asked us if we needed or did we get a certain something on the menu! The dinning experience was so pleasurable, that we couldn't wait to be seated for breakfast and dinner. We will certainly miss their Good Mornings and Good Evenings!!!

Truly, I will not hesitate to recommend the Pocmont to couples and families! My only regret is that we did not book another night. By the way, I did make it all the way down (and back up) Bushkill Falls!

Sincerely,
Paul J. Willis

"THE REUNION"

The call came in one afternoon, when she didn't have much to do.
Maybe she was feeling melancholy but hopefully not too blue.
"I have and idea for a get together,
We'll go inside so we don't have to worry about the weather!
I'll plan it all, collect the money, it will be such a cinch -
I know everyone will help if I find myself in a pinch!"

I thought that she was crazy,
And I thought she was insane,
But after all the phone calls it was no longer such a game.

The calls were placed, the plans were blessed
Now to get us all at Pocmont
Might prove to be a test.

She wanted to know who wants "a suite"
Or "a deluxe"
"no problem she said as long as you have the bucks."

So many times she heard us all at one time or another,
"can so and so come and can we bring our mother?"

"Everyone is welcome" she would always say,
"it doesn't matter if you're not family you'll be one of us this day!"

I wonder how all this will go,
And what memories we will keep,
But one thing is for certain, she has lost a lot of sleep!

So thank you MaryAnne and for all that you did do,
For getting us together,
We certainly DO LOVE YOU!!!!

With love and thanks for all the planning,
"You pulled this one off!!"

Love always, Fran

" Dear Ralph:

We just wanted to thank you very much for taking care of our children (Brad and Leanne Kauffman) and our friend's children (Janelle and Jared Barninger) while we were on vacation the week of July 10. The counselors for kids world were very nice to the girls and we know Leanne and Janelle enjoyed doing things with them. Thanks too for keeping Brad and Jared busy. Before we left on Saturday, we got to see Lee Jay, Mike, Maria and Moira but we did not get to see you so I just wanted to thank you.

Once again, it was a great time at Pocmont!"

I want to take this opportunity to thank you and the Pocmont staff for a wonderful family reunion. Everyone had a great time (they especially liked the karaoke and the comedian on Sunday night).

"Dear Maureen,

I am Aimee Wiercinskis mother and was part of the Bruno Family Reunion on July 18 - 20, 2003

Now that the summer is ending, I finally have a moment to acknowledge all your help to Aimee in making our reunion such a memorable event. With such a large group, I was amazed that everything went so smoothly and I realize that we have you to thank for that.

Everyone in our group seemed pleased with the meals, accommodations and variety of activities, and having access to our own hospitality room for the whole weekend proved to be the icing on the cake. We had a wonderful time and couldn't have chosen a more perfect or beautiful location to hold our reunion. Our only regret was that it was over too quickly.

Thank you again!
Sincerely,

Thank you for everything you have done. You made us feel welcome. A good time was had by all at your facility. The hospitality was superb and excellent. It was a pleasure to finally meet you. A special thank you to both of you for your excellent service. By taking care of our every need you helped make this annual trip the most memorable for The Club.

Everything was perfect: accommodations, food, disco, activities, game arcade. Our members are still talking about the delicious Grand Buffet and the beautiful pool. We appreciate everyone who made our stay a great one!

Dear Gregg,

On behalf of the Northeastern Chapter, Army Counter Intelligence Corps Veterans, I would like to thank you and your staff for a wonderful stay at the Pocmont during the period 14-19 October. Our group enjoyed every miute of those six days. Every thing was just fine beginning with the cordiality of the Pocmont Staff upon everyone's arrival to the day of departure. I would not attempt to select one of your staff as all were most helpful and courteous to all our members. You made our mini-reunion indeed a pleasure. We have nothing but praise for the Pocmont.

We wish you continued success in the endeavors of the Pocmont.

Dear Gregg,
On behalf of the Northeastern Chapter of the Army Counter Intelligence Corps Veterans, I wish to thank you and through you your staff for a wonderful time during our visit to the Pocmont. Everything was just fine. The food, as usual, was just as you promise - good and plentiful. Your resort is no place to go for a person trying to control his or her weight - that is a losing battle. But what is the most that you have to offer, is the competence and friendliness of your staff. We have been coming yearly to the Resort since 1987 and our members have developed a close friendship with you and your staff. It is truly a home away from away. Through the years, and almost yearly, we have been forced to call upon your staff for assistance in caring for a member who has become ill. We have needed aid, awaiting the arrival of professioanl emergency personnel. This year was no exception. Seth Campbell, who has been a annual guest, was taken seriously ill due to a heart condition. If it had not been for Paula, I believe that Seth would not have survived. We are indebted to her. The years have taken a toll though. When the time was when we had well over one hundred members attending, we now must struggle to have sixty. As one might surmise, the "Greatest Generation" is beginning to show its age. But, we intend to continue to make our annual visit to the Pocmont.
Your staff was most helpful to me, JoAnne, Camie, Eileen, Paula, Jean, Larry, Sylvia, Tony, etc, etc, etc. and of course you yourself.
Again I thank you and your crew for being such good hosts.
Cordially

Dear Gregg,

I would just like to tell you that we had a very successful reunion at the Pocmont Resort and to commend you on your staff that take their work very seriously and do everything necessary in taking care of a persons needs in making them feel relaxed and comfortable.

I would like to tell you about my experience with some of your staff that I had a lot of contact with. First JoAnne who took care of our contract negotiations and followed up with all of my needs even while she was on vacation. In the 12 years I have been doing reunions she is the best and most cooperative sales manager I have ever worked with. Elaine who works like JoAnne fills in when JoAnne isn't available and also took care of our needs. Cliff who without being told maintained the hospitality room, set up and broke down the room for our membership meeting and when we had a special request he was there in a split second. Pam who I don't think ever goes home as I would see her from sun up to sun down and she helped us on the front desk, in the dining room, and always right there to take care of any ones needs. Phil a young fellow who always has a smile on his face and did every thing possible by working around our schedule, keeping the group active, busy and happy. I was amazed at how the entire staff would put on different hats and fill in where ever help was needed.

Comments from some of the members were that the rooms are large, clean and the food was great and they would like to come back to Pocmont.

Again thanks to you and the entire staff at Pocmont for doing a great job and as I told JoAnne you and your staff on a count of 1 to 10 receive a 12.

Sincerely,
Ken Hoffman

USS ROCHE

October 31, 2005
Dear Mr. Artzt:

Recently the USS ROCHE held its biennial reunion at your very fine resort. This is the fourth time we've met there. In 2003 we had a regular reunion and twice before we had mini reunions of fellows living within reasonable traveling distance.
This is the second time we have done a full reunion and each time seems to get better with the members enjoying it better than the one before. At our business meeting this year we voted unanimously to return in 2007.
Our group, though small in number, since there are not too many WWII veterans still living, feels we receive the kind of cooperation and hospitality that might be reserved and awarded to a much larger group. That feeling is obviously misplaced since I'm sure everyone is accorded the same cordiality and hospitality we received.
I filled in and regurned the Pocmont form recently sent to me that asked specific questions relative to our stay. However, I would be remiss if I did not take this opportunity to express our groups' and particularly my delight at the cooperation extended to us by Maureen Vagelakos.
Putting together a reunion of octogenarians is no simple task... we, unfortunately, get more demanding, picky and cantankerous. That said, nothing I asked of Maureen was left undone. She performed heroically and, believe me, these guys have seen a lot of heroes in years gone by.

"Dear Gregg,
Please accept our thanks for a wonderful six days at the Pocmont Resort and Conference Center. As usual your staff was more than considerate of our every wish and did so in the most friendly manner. "Dear Gregg:

In the hurry-up and demanding culture in which we live it is indeed a rarity to receive a letter of commendation for services received. We seem to find it much easier and ego-satisfying to criticize harshly rather than compliment... even when it's due.

That being said, I'm taking this opportunity to compliment your entire operation for the recent reunion we had at your facility.

From my initial contact with Maureen Vagelakos to our departure lunch everything went perfect. Maureen was a pleasure to work with. I appreciate the fact we were but a small group of 25 but had we been one of several hundred I don't think she could or would have been more accommodating. She worked closely with me to resolve several problems that inherently arose with the elderly folks that make our group.

In the dining room (where subjectivity is paramount and people are most critical of what they are getting) we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, not only from the wonderful output of your kitchen(s) but from the service we received from Iris Feliciano and Anna our beverage girl. Also too many to mention are your room maids. Not one complain was registered.

Employees such as these share to billing with your cleanliness. Thanks again".

Dear JoAnne,

Sorry that this took so long for me to send; I guess you could say that I have senioritis!!! My students, the chaperones and I had a fantastic time at Pocmont Resort. Everything was above and beyond our desires and hopes for this trip. All of your workers and guests, particularly the AARP group, made us feel welcome and at home. The facilities were immaculate, the service was superior and the meals were outstanding. There could not have been a better choice for my seniors to have their trip, and I am glad that I chose Pocmont for their "final fling". Thank you for all of your guidance and assistance in planning this trip; without your expertise, I could not have had such a successful experience. Dear JoAnne,

Thank you so much for your help and for your staffs help. The food, D.J., reception desk employees, and bartenders this year were 10 times better this year than last year. I am not sure how many people took pictures with Ken, but I know that whoever did, they were happy and are awaiting their pictures at home. Your ability to manage a large affair was evident and several of my fraternity brothers and their dates have called me wishing to relay that notion. As for the mugs, Garrett Fruchtman has them and was supposed to leave a few at the front desk as check out. I am still unaware if he did, but I will assume that he didn't. If this is the case, I will see to it that a few are sent to the Pocmont at your attention. Please let me know if I was "awarded" my security deposit back so I can check with my bank to let them know I need a funds transfer back to my fraternity. Even though I am a senior, I will be back to your hotel next year for several formals. Due to the attention to detail and care on behalf of your staff, several sorority girls who were present have already made it known that they are intending on having their formal at the Pocmont next year. I hope that whoever steps up from my fraternity to plan the formal will be treated in the same manner as I have been.

Attention Manager,

I visited your resort from September 24 to September 27, 2007 I was with the Post Cana Group. All of your staff members that with whom I came in contact were very nice, but I would like to tell you about two who were especially accommodating. I have a special diet and your chef came out and talked to me and he made sure that I received the correct food.

I would also like to tell you that my server, Penelope was very attentive to my special needs and made sure I received the correct meals.

They both made my stay very enjoyable and I could relax and enjoy my stay.

May 20, 2006
Gentlemen,

We were guests of Pocmont from May 15 thru May 19th and want to express our gratitude to your staff for making our stay a wonderful experience. We were impressed from the moment of arrival with the consistent team approach used by a caring staff to assure your guests of comfort and a pleasant visit. Many in our group had been to Pocmont numerous times but it was a first for us.

Highlights of our visit began with Lee Jay's "Loose as a Goose Chairobics". We attended the Tuesday workout and had so much fun trying to follow his antics that we returned each day - and loved it! What a talented person! Lee Jay "insulted", kidded, chided, stroked us into doing exercises that many of us would not normally do... and we really enjoyed ourselves. He would "switch hats" and call Bingo games, assisted by either Peter or Phil. His show on Thursday evening entertained everyone. It is easy to understand why you have kept him an important part of the Pocmont Family.

Your Seasons dining room and kitchen staff contributed to a Pounds On program which, for most of us, should have been a Pounds Off regimen. Vic was our table's server and always was pleasant, informative, responsive to our questions and provided excellent service. We appreciate Paula and the other staff members who would come around with beverages, ask if we needed any thin, answer a question, and look after our welfare quietly and efficiently. Tuesday's Grand Buffet was sumptuous and so memorable but believe us when we say it is back to a bowl of cereal and a salad and fish for dinner for weeks to try to lose our Pocmont Pounds!

Young Peter entertained us with LCR dice game - we hope to try this with our friends here at home. His animation, sincerity and caring manner endeared him to everyone in the group and we hope that he will do well in his future career.

While we cannot thank individuals, people at the Reception desk, the cleaning staff and other Pocmont personnel, we want to express a big THANK YOU to everyone for making our stay a great getaway.. May we wish Pocmont success in continuing to do what you do so well.

Sincerely,
Gene S. and Mary Jane Foster

Dear JoAnne,

I just wanted to let you know that the group had a great time at your hotels this past week for the 3-day St. Patty's Day Celebration. The group leader reported that the entertainment, staff, rooms, food, etc. were all wonderful. She was only sorry that she was not able to get more sucessful.
Thank you for all of your help in making this trip a success.

Resurrection Seniors

"Our group, Resurrection Seniors, spent last Oct. 9 to 13 at Pocmont and we had a wonderful time. The accommodations and food were first rate and the personnel very obliging.

Prior to our arrival you had upgraded our rooms from outside the main lodge to inside at no extra cost and we appreciated that.

During our stay one of our members became very ill but your fellow employees made sure she got to the Medical Center and later picked up her prescription. This turned a difficult situation for me into one I could cope with.

We returned home with many pleasant memories of Pocmont and we hope to see you again in the near future."

Enclosed is the survey that I passed out to all the Red Hatters, thought you might be interested. We had a wonderful time, the staff was very helpful and patient with our numerous questions and requests. I made the scarf, hope you enjoy it as an honorary member of our group.

Once again Thank you for making our first "Get Away" a success.
Hope to see you again!

Sincerely,

Dear JoAnne,
Thank you for helping us make our Ladies Retreat a success! Once again the women were raving at how wonderful Pocmont Was. They do wish it was easier to get to with all the traffic and all, but that can't be helped! We do appreciate your generosity this year and hope you can do that again!

Thank you again JoAnne. We had a great weekend!

April 25th, 2006

Dear Sir,
I was with St. John's group (4-17 to 4-21) and had a great time, your staff is very efficient. We had a waitress, Iris Feliciano and we were in "awe" of her. The service she gave us was excellent to every need because Iris was helpful in her routine of caring for 3 tables. Our was table 32.

We were well fed, the food was delicious and we were served very well. Iris is "special" to us and we were satisfied.

Thank you all very much -
Laura Kulesza

Dear JoAnne,

I amd writing this letter on behalf of the Women's Fellowship Committee, of Fellowship Covenant Church, to thank the Pocmont Resort & Conference Center for accommodating us this past weekend, February 24-26, 2006.

The Pocmont Resort & Conference Center definitely provided us with such a warm, relaxing and welcoming atmosphere for our women's retreat. I can honestly say that all who were in attendance had a great time, and the comments were very favorable.

We'd like to especially extend our thanks to you for providing us with such exceptional support throughout our weekend stay, thus making our stay an enjoyable one.

In conclusion, thank you for everything. We will certainly recommend your resort to others, and hope that we may have the opportunity to return to your resort in the very near future.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Sandra Mosby

Dear Maureen,

I want to thank you and Lois for the hospitality shown to the MGT group proceeding and during our stay at your resort. You both were very accommodating and showed great patience as I, at times, stressed over putting the weekend together. Your calm helped to ease my mind and everything worked out just fine. Your staff was fabulous. Whatever we asked for it was supplied in the most pleasant manner. Please give my thanks to the chef for the private dinner on Friday, the food was a hit.

Everyone in our group had a great time and were quite amazed at all that your facility offered. I actually took part in Garyoke Saturday evening... I had a fabulous time. I was acutely nominated to host the 2nd annual Spiritual Retreat next year.

Again, thank you for the hospitality shown and I look forward to seeing you in the near future.

Sincerely,
Johnna Richard

St. Christopher's Church

" Dear Mr. Artzt,

My group and I want to thank you for the wonderful time we had on the week of August 28 to September 1st. We had no complains for anything. The treatment we had from everyone was the best.

But of course Mr. Artzt something always has to happen. We were suppose to leave right after lunch but no bus. Instead of coming to the Pocmont, he ended up going to Baldwin to pick us up. What a mistake.

There is no words I can think of to thank Debra Passero and Charna Vasquez. They did so much. Between keeping us informed, setting us up for coffee and cookies at 4 PM and then Supper at 7PM. Was the greatest. We are still talking about it. I myself was a lost sheep and did not what to do. But like I said Debra and Charna kept making the phone calls and at 7:30 PM the bus came and we were on our way home.

Mr. Artzt as far as I go and being a group leader, The Pocmont Resort is the best. My intentions are to keep bringing groups up as much as I can. Not only that, I'm putting out the word for all the other group leaders to know how great the place is".
